Be a Over Comer
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: Over Comer

                                       BE AN OVERCOMER

Revelation 3:21  To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne.”

Have you ever wondered or ask yourselves “What are we to overcome?”   That is a normal question to ask….but it is not so much what we are to overcome, but HOW we are to overcome.  In Matthew 4:  Jesus is tempted of the Devil, He overcame the personal temptations of Satan by the word, and by the word only.  In each of these major trials we find they are exactly like the temptations of the Garden of Eden, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life.  Jesus overcame each one by the word.
Eve fell to the personal temptation of Satan by failing to use the word.  Adam fell in direct disobedience to the word, but Jesus overcame by the word.  Jesus was tempted as we are, yet he gained the victory, and overcame by the word to help them that are tempted (Hebrew 2: 18).  Jesus defeated Satan by means open to all of his humblest followers, the intelligent use of the word of God, (II Timothy 2:15).
As the tempter was revealed, Jesus rebukes him, “Get the hence,”  “begone.”  Thou shall worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.  These words forbid every kind of religious adoration to any other object of any kind other than Jesus, whether it be idols, Icons of one kind or another, false gods, Popes, the virgin Mary, saints or angels.
The three temptations had been met.  Three times the tempter had been battled, three times the victory had been won.  Satan tempted Jesus through the door of the appetite, when He was weak and hungry.  The lust of the flesh.  Through “the lust of the eye,” and the third. “the pride of life.”  All these things Satan offered Jesus if only he would fall down and worship him.  But they all had been met by the shield of faith, and the tempter beaten back by the word of God.  Jesus said, “he that overcomes”  Jesus overcame, therefore we can also overcome.  Jesus beat him back by the word, showing us how to become an overcomer, leaving us an example.  Hebrew 5:7  “Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayer and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death and was heard in that He feared.  Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; and being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all then that obey Him.”  What was He obedient to?  The word of God.
In this age of plenty and opportunity, when everyone has so much and there is so much more to be had, with all the inventions to do our work and so many things to give us pleasure, suddenly, we find mental illness taking such a toll as to alarm the nation.  People should be happy, nut most are not, millions are taking sedatives at night, pep pills in the morning, rushing to doctors, entering institutions and trying to drown out unknown fears by alcohol, only to find the next morning what ever they are trying to get away from is still right there.
This age boast of its spiritual attainments, but they are less sure of themselves than ever.  They boast of their moral values and it is more corrupt than any age since the flood.  We have come from the horse and buggy age to the space age, and we are proud and boastful about it; but inside is a dark void cavern that is crying out, and the only way to fill that cavern is through Jesus Christ.  We must feed the soul with His word.
People are filled with pride, they boast of what they have.  But what they have will not stand the test of time.  They are building upon quicksand, rather than the rock of the salvation of God’s word.  People today are twitching the word of God and hacking it to pieces to suite their own hearts desire,  but the will of God will be done regardless, for it is by His word we overcome.

Be still and know that i am God
Mood:  a-ok
BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD.

There are many people today who do not understand about the Holy Ghost.  They do not know who it is; nor what it is; nor how it affects our lives, but there’s one thing for sure, whether you understand or not the Holy Ghost is a must in everyone’s life.
There are people who say it is a misprint.  But the Holy Ghost is no misprint, and it’s time everyone learned for themselves what the Holy Ghost is.
The dictionary meaning is:  “The Spirit of God”  Many people call it the Holy Spirit, and that is what it is.  You may call it the Holy Spirit if it makes you feel comfortable, but you are taking away from God if you do, for Ghost is the Spirit of one who has died, appearing to the living.  And that is what Jesus did, He died on the cross of Calvary and on the third day rose from the tomb, and showed Himself to many of his disciples.  Anyone who denies the Holy Ghost is saying that Jesus did not die on the cross; therefore he did not rise from the tomb on the third day, then there is no resurrection.  But if you believe the Bible, St. John 20:26 tells us, “And after eight days again His disciples were within, and Thomas with them then came Jesus, the door being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.”
Notice that the scripture said, the door was shut and Jesus appeared in the midst of them.
Jesus tells us in St. John 16:7 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you;  but if I depart, I will send him unto you.”  Jesus is speaking of His death and resurrection.  He is telling his disciples, “I must go away.  It is necessary for you that I die upon the cross.  To be buried and rise the third day, and to ascend up into heaven or else the Comforter will not come unto you.”  And who is the Comforter?  Check it out for yourselves.  St. John 14:16, 26 tells us that the Comforter is the Holy Ghost.  “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost.  Whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
Jesus had to depart before the Comforter could come, but before Jesus ascended up into heaven, He told His disciples not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise.  Acts 1:4-5 “And, being assembled together with, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.  For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.  There were eye witness of Jesus ascending up into heaven.  He departed as he said he would.  And on the day of Pentecost when all the disciples, including Mary, the mother of Jesus were all gather together in the upper room as they had been told by Jesus, waiting for the Comforter or the promise.  The Comforter did come as Jesus had promised on the day of Pentecost.  Acts 2:1-6
The dictionary lets us know that Comforter means:  an intercessor or helper.  And we find that an intercessor is one who pleads for another.  Romans 8:27 “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
The scriptures in Acts 2:1-8 lets us know that they all received the promise.  They were all baptized with the Holy Ghost.  Now the Holy Ghost did not come back to earth on the day of Pentecost and fill the disciples with his divine power and then just disappear off the face of the earth.  No, for we serve a true and living God.
Many people feel that it only happened back then, only in the days of the disciples, but don’t let nobody tell you that.  They will tell you that things like that don’t happen today.  God says “I change not.”  He is the same yesterday, today, and for ever more.  He is still filling men and women with the Holy Ghost today as He did the disciples on the day of Pentecost.    God does not want to withhold the gift of the Holy Ghost from any of us.  Revelation 3:20 lets us know, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Acts 2:39 we find that, “For this promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”  This promise was not to the disciples only, but it is also for anyone even today, if we will open the door of our heart, when Jesus knocks, when we hear his voice.  This is a promise, He made to you and to me.  “Be still and know that I am God.”

River Of Lies
Mood:  a-ok
RIVER OF LIES

You might could say this river of lies began flowing in the days of the Apostles.  Oh, I know that we are living in a modern day age, but a lie is a lie and if you tell it long enough, people will start believing it.  But the Apostle Paul said, “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.” (Acts 20: 29)  They did and they have.

Valentinus of Rome, began to teach the Trinitarian concept.  He was a second century church leader of Rome who had some affiliation with the Roman Catholic Church.  He and his followers believed in merging Greek pagan Philosophy with Christianity.  He and his followers also endorsed a non-immersion form of Baptism.  They taught that the world was created from pre-existent matter by the angels.  “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Gen. 1: 1)  That Jesus was really not made flesh, that He was a defect, that man was not fashioned from the earth.  (Gen. 2: 7) “and the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.”   And this river of lies keep right on flowing.

Over time Pagan, heresy and false teaching have mixed themselves with Christianity, for so long that if one does not know God and who He is, they too, will find themselves drifting down this river of lies, and only Jesus can show us the truth and help us escape  this river of lies that get swifter as time goes on. He is trying to throw you a life-line.  Are you too stubborn to reach out and take hold of it?  False teaching is one of Satan’s main weapons against the church of God.  If he cannot destroy the church from without he will try to destroy it from within.  But Jesus said, “I will build MY church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16: 18.
Paul tells us in II Cor. 11:13-15, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”  Satan’s servants masquerading as apostles of Christ.  Compromising with the world was taught back in the old testament times.   This heresy is one that all God’s people are tempted with throughout church history, it is nothing new.  But you can’t compromise with the world and be the bride of Christ.

Jesus said, “REPENT” if you do not repent from compromising with the world, then, He said, “I will fight against you. (Rev. 2: 14-16)
We need to wakeup and heed what Jesus is saying to us.  We have become a group of self-satisfying people, with the feeling we have got it made.  But remember, God spared not the natural branches (Jews) because of their unbelief, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Roman 11: 21 You cannot compromise with the world and live for God.  You may be rich in the things of this world, but you will be poor in the eyes of God.  Spiritually poor.

Churches today are attending to the ceremonies and forms of religion, and neglecting the truth of God’s word.  But the word of God is, “Quick and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword.”   But tell me, what better way to confront false doctrine, then to use the rightly divided word of God to correct?  (Rev.1:16) This world today is faced with enticement and corruption, Drugs, women, men, parties, and good times.  People we use to trust, we could look-up to, like our police force, our pastors, or our church leaders, we can’t even trust our boy scouts leaders anymore, for many of them will abuse our children.

The devil has two ways of approach.  If he cannot make you knuckle under with hostility and persecution, he will begin to entice you and lure you into some kind of trap that he has laid in front of you.  Don’t be deceived, God will judge this world system itself.  There is a struggle going on between the world and the children of God.  There always was and there always will be until Jesus says enough is enough.  The Apostle Paul said, “When I would do good, evil is ever present.”

False teaching today is still as bad as it has always been.  Maybe even worse.  The river of lies just keeps on flowing.  For example: Gays are permitted to preach and teach in the churches today, everyone says, “that alright.”  But Jesus tells us that is not alright.  They teach that Jesus was not born of a virgin birth, that you don’t have to be baptized. Etc.  False teachings.  Jesus said, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”  St Luke 16: 16.  These kind of teaching show no reverence to God.  All the while they are tolerating the things that Jesus has so clearly designated as an abomination to Him.

Although Satan has tried to destroy God’s true church, he could not, nor can he, so he has infiltrated it with pagan worship. Like Easter,  Christmas. Halloween, etc.  And has brought people into compromising with the world.  There is no harm, they say.  Jesus said, “I am a jealous God.”  The Bible says, “I would not that ye should  have fellowship with devils.”  I Cor. 10: 20.

When members of a church begin to compromise it is the (Pastor) or ministers duty to declare the word of God to them.  Their teachings today suggest that a Christian could come to term with the world and still be faithful to God.  But you can’t do it.  Jesus said, “Come out from among them,”  If you listen to these kind of teachings you stand in danger of falling into the depths of a spiritual pit that Satan has dug.  He knows what his end is, and he don’t mind taking you down with him.

They are teaching today that it is alright to participate in the things of this world, to go out into the world, live as the world lives.  We are allowing almost anything and everything to go on in the church, and we go on and act as if nothing is wrong and everything is alright.  But its not.  There has to be a separation from the true church of God and the world.  The things of this world are, “The lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life.  Shake it loose.  Don’t get caught up in this river of lies.

When you have all you want, Do you have all you need!
Mood:  not sure

FROM THE DESK OF THE PASTOR:

WHEN YOU HAVE GOT ALL YOU WANT, DO YOU HAVE WHAT YOU NEED.

Most people spend all their life worrying about making money  to feed their families, to put clothes on their back, to buy a beautiful home in a good neighborhood, to buy that nice car to park in their driveway, and to take those nice families vacations, but do you every stop to think about your soul?  When you have got all you want….Do you have what you really need?  Without Jesus, all those other things are nothing.  The Bible tells us to first seek the kingdom of God, then all these other things may be added to us.

In providing for one’s future and happiness, one has plenty to think about.  Their retirement and their children’s education, making enough money to pay their mortgage on that beautiful home, and to have money for emergencies, but there is more to think about than material things.  There is the spiritual side of life. Where will you or I spend all eternity?

Jesus spake a parable to show us that riches do not secure one from evil. “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, what shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruit?  And he said, this will I do, I will pull down my barns, and build greater, and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.  And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years, take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”  Luke 12: 16-19.

WHEN YOU GET ALL YOU WANT…DO YOU HAVE WHAT YOU NEED?  One should be sure, very sure, for one never knows at what moment you may be called from this earth, that you may go to, and not from, your treasures.

One of the mistakes of this rich man was, he had the goods, but the years he could not claim, he forgot that life is uncertain, and like so many others, he tried to satisfy his soul with food, drink and merriment. He had all he wanted, but he did not have the thing that he really needed.

God said unto him, “Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee:  then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?  So is he that layeth up treasures for himself, and is not rich toward God.”  Luke 12: 20-21.

It may be a harsh saying, but men and women act the part of a fool, not realizing that their soul could be required of them at any time and they will have to give an account of every deed done while in this body.  In trusting to riches for their happiness, which can only come from God, they are laying up treasures on this earth, and not in heaven.

The rich man thought he had many years ahead of him, but God said, “This night your soul is required of thee.”  This he was unprepared for, he had all he wanted, but he did not have what he needed, and all his goods on which he had set his heart were delivered over to others.

Covetousness is a sin that all people need to be warned against for happiness and comfort do not depend on the wealth of this world.  The things of this world will not satisfy the desires of the soul.  Do not be misguided by thinking that God does not know your thoughts.  Think about it, if you have all you want do you have all you need?  And be truthful with yourself, for your soul salvation depends on it.  Are you like the rich man, laying up treasures for yourself, that is folly in the eyes of God.  If you are smart, or if you think, you are wise, then you should be laying up treasures in heaven for Luke 6: 24 tell us, “Woe unto you that are rich! For ye have received your consolation.”

Jesus tells us,  “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:”  St. Matthew 6:19-20.   If you have, all you want….do you have what you need?  Now is the time to ask your-self theses questions.  Do not wait until it is too late.

My God CAN!!
Mood:  on fire
Topic: My God Can!!!

MY GOD CAN!

Psa. 78: 41 “Yea, they turned back and tested God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.”

Why do people place limitation on the Lord?  Many times limitations are placed on the Lord without realizing what they are doing, by the words that come out of our mouth, by their thoughts; by the way, they act.  People place limitations on the one that has no limitations.  Heaven is His throne, Earth is His footstool, He created everything our eyes survey.  He is God in the book of Genesis, He is God in Revelation.  He is God in the Beginning; He will still be God in the end.  God can do anything but fail.  To God, nothing is impossible. Even though the children of Israel are God’s chosen people, they were stubborn and rebellious, just like we are today, and in their unbelief spoke against God, questioning God’s ability,  “Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?”  There is nothing that my God cannot do.  My God can.  I place no limitation on the Lord; He can do far above what I may think He can do. At the Red Sea, the children of Israel were caught between Pharaoh’s army, and the Red Sea.  They complained to Moses, why did you bring us out of Egypt just to be slained in this wilderness?   Moses said to them, “Stand still and see the Salvation of the Lord.”  The children of Israel put limitation on God even after all the wonders and miracles they seen in Egypt.  Nevertheless, God parted the water and the children of Israel walked across on dry land.  Because my God can do anything. The people asked Moses, “Can God feed this great multitude of people out here in the wilderness?  My God can.  Can God bring water out of a rock?  Who ever heard of such a thing as this?  However, my God can, for Jesus is that Rock.  Who is it that can walk on the water?  Nobody but Jesus.  Who is He that can still the wind and calm the raging sea?  My God Can.  What manner of man is this? The God of Moses, Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, David and the others, I want to remind people, He is also our God.  That same God can reach down, and lift you out of the miry pits of sin that we have sunk into, and place your feet upon that solid rock.  You may ask who would do that for a sinner like me?  My God Can.  He can take your sins and wash you white as snow, because my God can.  When we are sick and the doctors give up on us, who can heal us?  My God Can.  Can this man raise the dead also?  “Lazarus, come forth,”   My God Can.  I am the Resurrection, and the life,” Jesus said.             The Chaldean, Magician, astrologer, could not tell king Nebuchadnezzar the meaning of his dream, but Daniel said, “There is a God in Heaven who revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king, what shall be in the latter days.”  My God can.  “Was thy God able,” king Darius asked of Daniel.  “To deliver thee from the lions?” “Oh, king, live forever, my God was able.”  Daniel said. Just remember, when you are down, my God is able to hold you up.  When the three Hebrew boys were thrown into the fiery furnace, they said unto the king, “Our God, whom we serve, is able to deliver us.”  The king looked into the furnace and said, “Did not we thrown three bound into the fiery furnace?  I see four men, loose and walking down there, and the fourth is like the Son of God.”  My God is able to deliver you from whatever trial you may be going through, for He will be right there in the fire with you.  Do not ever put limitations on God, for there is nothing He cannot do.  Your friends may turn against you.  Members in your church may let you down, but my God is able to hold you up.  Elijah said unto the people, “How long halt ye between two opinions?  If the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him.”  God gives that chose to every man, woman, and child.  Whom will you serve today, God or Satan?

What is Truth
Mood:  not sure
Topic: Truth

WHAT IS TRUTH?

Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause, I was born and for this cause, I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice. Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all,” St. John 18: 37-40.

Jesus came into this world to make known the truth, and to govern men not by force, but by spiritual influence. “What is truth?” By this question, Pilate manifested both his ignorance of our Lord’s meaning, and his indifference in respect to His doctrine. I find in Him no fault, the Holy Ghost caused to be written on an imperishable record, that it might stand an eternal monument of the falsehood of the Jews, and the perfect innocence of Jesus Christ. What is truth? Truth sat in person and bound before Pilate. Pilate was eager to comply with the custom in order to release an innocent prisoner, but he had not measured the depths of the Jewish hate, which could demand, instead, a robber and a murderer. The Jews preferred Barabbas to the Son of God, the Saviour of the world.

When Christ said, I am the Truth; he said in effect, I am a king. He conquers by convincing evidence of truth, He rules by the commanding power of truth. Many souls out there in the world are searching for the truth, but there are so many preachers out there today, and each one is saying I am teaching the truth, how many truths are there today, not everybody can be teaching the truth. So who do I believe, what do I believe? How many gospels do we have? Each one has a different doctrine, one teaches the Baptism in Jesus name, another teaches speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterances, another does not believe in either one.

What is truth? The dictionary meaning is Fact, reality, honesty, certainty. When Jesus said, unless you believe and are baptized, you shall in no wise enter into the Kingdom of God. He told you the truth. Whom do you want to believe God or man? Little by little, the preachers are allowing the world to come into the churches today. They are trying to bring God down to please and pacify man, instead of coming up to where they belong to meet God’s standards. But that will not work; mankind has to go by the laws of Jesus Christ. Our self-righteousness is not good enough. A lot of people do not want to listen to sound doctrine today, they are happy living in a world of pretense. They let and they let until they are all out of the way. They let until the truth has completely slipped away from them.

Preachers today, are worried, concerned and even afraid to preach the truth of God’s word. They are afraid that their own congregation will not accept the truth or that the world system will not tolerate them speaking out against certain sins, like shacking-up, or the same sex marriages, or anything that is classified as sin. What is truth? Do you want the preacher to tell you that it is okay to do these things, when it is not? How can the word of God have any effect, if it is watered down to please the people?

Do you think that because Jesus died for your sins that give you the right to go out and do anything you want to do? No, it does not. A sin is a sin, whether you like it or not. Preachers that are called by God cannot water down the word of God just to please the people.

God told Isaiah 58:1, “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgressions.”

Water down word of God cannot be effective and do the job that God intended it to do. People today seem to want to believe a lie more so than the truth. The prophets of old were killed for telling the truth. Jesus was murdered on an old rugged cross for telling the truth. The Apostles were beaten, stoned, imprisoned, persecuted, and others were martyred, except for John, all for the Gospel. Did the truth die with them? Cannot the truth be told anymore? Has people forgotten what truth is? What is truth? God’s word is truth. If you reject Jesus, you reject truth.

Just in Case
Topic: Jesus Was Born

FROM THE DESK OF THE PASTOR

@

@

JUST IN CASE:

@

Many claim that Jesus was not born of the virgin Mary, that he was not crucified on the Cross of Calvary, and that He did not rise from the grave the third day. They claim that the things written in the four gospels are fantasy. That Jesus did not exist.

It is sad to think that the divinity of Christ has been given up by so many people. Some great scholars deny that He ever lived at all, that Christ is only a myth.

II Peter 1:16-19 “For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”

The Bible, is the word of God, written in a book by the prophets of old, and the apostles of Jesus who walked and talked with Him for three-and-a-half-years of Jesus’ ministry. The word of God seems to be under more scrutiny today than ever before, but that seems only reasonable, knowing that Jesus is soon to come. Man is questioning whether Jesus ever existed, that it is all a well planned fantasy. They are discounting the miracles that He performed. They are discounting the rapture. They say the apostles are a fake, that they are just someone made up. The spirit of the Anti-Christ is in the land., deceiving many, “even the very elect, if it were possible.” I am telling you brethren who are reading this article, Hold fast to that you already have.

Jesus tells us in St. Matthew 10:32-33, “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.”

Don’t you think that, Just in case, the Bible is the true word of the one true God, we should be very thoughtful of where we want to spend eternity? Do we want to spend it in those mansions that Jesus has gone to prepare for us, or do we want to spend it in the fires of hell, with Satan and the fallen angels? God gives us a choice. Are we willing to take the chance that all of the Bible is a fantasy, that the things Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all wrote are fiction? Peter said, “We have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.”

Scarcely an action or a work of Christ is mentioned, at which Peter was not present. Peter was present at the miracles of Jesus from the very first. He was there on the Mount of Transfiguration. He was there when Jesus fed the multitude. He was there in the court of Pilate. He was there at the tomb with John to witness the empty tomb.

Just in case the disciples are telling the truth, that the Bible is really the word of God, what happens to us if we refuse to believe? What if the great scholars, and the sciences are wrong? What if God is the Creator of heaven and earth, and all the things that are there-in? Are we willing to pay the consequence, because we refused to believe? Each person has to make up their own mind about the Bible. But can every one in the Bible be wrong, from the prophets in the Old Testament, to the Disciples in the New Testament, from Paul in the book of Acts, to John in the book of Revelation?

Just in case, Jesus is real and He did die for our sins, that He is alive for evermore, are you willing to step out on a little faith? For if He did not, then we are all dead in our sins and hell is our new home. I can’t speak for the great Sciences nor the great scholars of our time, but as for me, I believe the word of God, I believe Jesus is a real person, and the things that are wrote about Him are true, but you have to decide what you want to believe. I pray you make the right decision.

What do you want to hear

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO HEAR?

@

When you go to church, what do you want to hear? The pastor to tell you “God is love” Something to make you feel good. To skip over the things you do wrong. What do you want to hear?

“Woe to the rebellious children, says the Lord, Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, that they may add sin to sin; Who say to the seers, “Do not see,” And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things; speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.” Isaiah 30: 1; 10

Preachers today are worried, concerned and even afraid to preach the true word of God. They are afraid that their own congregation will not accept the truth or that the world system will not tolerate them speaking out against certain sins like, “Same sex marriages, shacking-up, or anything that is classified as sin. If they speak out on any of those things, it is considered a hate crime. Preacher do not hate the person, they hate the sin that person is committing against God and themselves. What do you want to hear? Do you want the preacher to tell you that it is okay to do those things, when it is not? How can the word of God have any effect, if they skip around the truth and just tell you things that are easy to listen to. Like, Jesus died for your sins. Yes he did. But do you think that because he died for your sins that gives you the right do go out and do anything you want to? No it does not. A sin is a sin, whether you like it or not. Preachers that are called by God cannot water the word of God down, just to please the people.

God told Isaiah 58: 1, “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgressions.” A watered down word of God cannot be effective and do the job that it is supposed to do. It seems that people today want to believe a lie more so than the truth. To put good for evil, and evil for good. This is destroying the foundation on which our Christian value are built. It is already destroying our Nation; and we are closing our eyes and refusing to see what is going on around us. Our leaders are saying it is alright to have the same-sex marriages, and some are even encouraging it, but woe be to them.

The prophets of old were killed far telling the truth, because people had rather heed the false teachers, they wanted to hear smooth things, deceits, just like people of today. Anything you want to do is alright with God, he understands. No, it is not alright, and yes he does understand. Everything is not alright with the Lord, he cares how his children dress, and he cares where they go, what they do, just like you care about your own children. We are His sons and daughters, He is our father.

Jesus was murdered on an old rugged cross for telling the people their sin, for telling the truth, the Apostles were beaten, stoned, imprisoned, persecuted, others were martyred, except for John, for the Gospel, did the truth die with them? Did the truth stopped at them? Is this Nation reverting to the old ways? Cannot the truth be told today?

Cry aloud, do not be afraid of being heard. Speak up, some ones feelings may be hurt, but it better to hurt their feelings than them to spend eternity in hell, and if you don’t tell them the blood is going to be on your hands, just like it is on Pilate’s, and it won’t wash off. Is that what you want, to answer for their sins? Many are dying in sin every day, which has not been told the truth. God said, “Show my people their transgressions.” How will they know, if the preachers do not tell them? They need to know the truth, then they can make their own decision, either to believe or not to believe, to do the right thing or not to do the right thing, but the choice is their. They have that right, don’t you think?

I Timothy 4: 16 “Take heed unto thyself and unto the Doctrine; continue in them, for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself and them that hear thee.”

What do you want to hear? Tell the sinner, what must I do to be saved. Tell them, what must I do to stay saved. Tell the sinner what is required of them. Tell them what sin is. Sin is an abomination before the Lord, it makes him sick. You may be looking good before your fellow man, but that don’t mean you are looking good before God. Take heed to your ways. Don’t ever think that God is not watching you.

At The Altar Of God
Topic: Altar

From the Pastor’s Desk:

AT THE ALTAR OF GOD

“Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?” Psalms 85:6. How many times have you heard the Pastor say, “The church is going to have a revival.” This is to pump up the church members, and try to get others into the church. To revive means to bring back to life, bring around, wake up, renew, and refresh, to recover. So, in comes some Evangelist to perform C.P.R. on the members of the church. However, have you ever asked yourself, why should they have to have life breathed into them? To be woke up, to be recharged. Is not the Spirit they have, the Spirit of the all mighty God, capable of breathing life into them? There are some so dead, that they do not need a revival, they need a resurrection. What has happened to the fire around God’s altar? Who poured water on the altar of God today. Elijah, on Mount Carmel, put the wood in order, and said, “Fill four water pots with water, and pour it on the wood. Then he told them, “Do it again.” In addition, he said, “Do it a third time.” And when Elijah prayed the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones of the altar and the dust.” I Kings 18: 30-39 What has happened to God’s Ministers today, the Shepherds of God’s people? The Evangelist comes in for a week or two, preaching the same things they have heard from their own Pastors. However, because they are different, they seem to strike a spark in a few people. The members seem to be revived for a few days. We are supposed to be ‘lively stones in the building” Where is the joy of the Lord? Where is the Rock of our salvation? Where is the fire around God’s altar? It is not our altar. When we come boldly before the throne of God, we come into the presence of the Lord, and it ceases from being a wooden altar at some church, or at home, and instead becomes an altar of God. Are we today, not cable of bringing that holy anointing of the Holy Ghost down around God’s altar?Do you think the Lord wants a Luke Warm Services? He tells us in Revelation, “Because you are neither Hot nor Cold, I will spue thee out of my mouth. That is what Jesus thinks of our Luke warm services. One would think we are breeding a church full of puppets, having to tell them everything to do, “Let us give praise to God in the house of the Lord.” or “Let everyone say Amen” or “Let everyone stand or sit, or raise your hand to praise the Lord.” We are not a bunch of robots, if we feel the fire of God burning in us we should be able to freely lift our hands in praise to our Lord and God, without feeling embarrassed and people staring at us as if we are a bunch of freaks. Jesus says, “If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.”Do you think someone would be asked to leave the church if they were to say aloud, “Thank you Jesus.” Or “Halleluiah.” Whose church is it suppose to be any-way? To some man or to some group of people, or to the Almighty God? The word of God tells us that, “Upon this rock I will build my church.”The Holy Ghost is the fire, if you do not have the Holy Ghost, then how can you have any fire in the church? That is the way it came in the book of Acts, and it has not changed. Jesus tells us, “I am the same yesterday, today and for evermore.” Man is trying to change the word of God to suite himself, but they are heaping coals of hell fire upon their own heads. Where is the Holy Ghost today? It came with “other tongues and with power, as the Spirit of God gave the utterance,” so tell me, why is there no fire around God’s altar? Because too many people are professing to be born again, when they are not, they are professing, but not possessing the Holy Ghost. We are living in the Laodicean church age, neither hot nor cold. The rich-poor church. Rich in the things of this world, poor in the things that have to do with God.People are being taught what a particular church or pastor believes to be right, what they reason it to be, but it is not always, what the Bible says. They give their own opinion, and everyone has an opinion, but they seemed to have left Jesus out. What does the word of God say? The Holy Ghost came on the day of Pentecost and it has not gone anywhere, they spoke in tongues then and we speak in tongues today. It has not changed. God has not changed. Show me in the word of God, where the tongues were taken out of the Holy Ghost. Why do we fight so hard against the obvious? Because the one that we are listening to, Sunday after Sunday, cannot preach what they do not have, and what they do not have is the same Spirit of God, the Holy Ghost. Get the Holy Ghost with the tongues and there will be fire around God’s Altar.

The Great Falling Away

THE GREAT FALLING AWAY

@

@

Every since the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden man has been falling away from God and the truth of God’s word. Satan assaulted our first parents, to draw them into sin, and so separate between them and God. Observe the steps of the transgression: They are not steps upward, but downward away from God.

1- Eve saw. A great deal of sin comes in at the eyes. I John 2: 16, “For all that is in the world, the lust the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world.” We should look on that which we are in danger of lusting after. “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart,” St. Matthew 5:28.

2- She took. It was her own act and deed. Satan may tempt, but he cannot force; may persuade us to cast ourselves down, but he cannot cast us down. “If you be the Son of God, cast yourself down......” St Matthew 4: 6

3- She did eat. When Eve looked perhaps she did not intend to take; or when she took, not to eat: but that’s not the way it ended. It is wise to stop the first motions of sin, and to leave off before it be meddled with.

4- She gave it also to Adam with her. Those that have done wrong, are willing to draw in others to do the same.

5- He did eat. By eating of the fruit of the tree that God had forbidden, Adam, by his disobedience, caused a separation between God and man. Romans 5: 19, “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one man’s obedience many will be made righteous.”

When it was too late, Adam and Eve saw the folly of their disobedience. Those who sin go astray from God, they separate themselves from God. Samson, the strongest man in the world, let a woman turn him away from God. Solomon, the wisest man in the world, yet his great wisdom did not teach him self-control. He taught well but failed to practice his own teaching. He let women turn his head away from God and worship strange gods. Solomon became a public worshipper of abominable idols. If sinful passions are not crucified and mortified by the grace of God, they never will die of themselves, but will last even when opportunities to gratify them are taken away.

“Let him that thinks he stands, take heed lest he fall.” We see how weak we are of ourselves, without the grace of God; let us watch and be sober. Ours is a dangerous warfare, and in an enemy’s country, while our worst foes are the traitors in our own hearts. There has always been a falling away, but more in these last days. But, like Joshua said, “as for me and my house I will serve the Lord.”

Paul and Peter warned us of apostasy, a falling away from the truth of God’ word in their day over two thousand years ago, and it is still going on. Those that have been in the faith, in the church for years, are now falling back. For you have to have something, before you can fall away from it.

The word of God tells us, don’t even look back into the world, he that looks back is not fit for the kingdom of heaven. Remember Lot’s wife, she looked back, for her heart was still in the world, she was not ready to turn loose of the things of this world. She was turned into a pillar of salt, because of her disobedience to God.

Jesus is asking that same question of people today as he did his disciples, “will ye also go away?” Go away to where, to what?

Peter said, “to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life.” There have been many that has forsaken Christ, and have walked no more with Him; but what reason have you to make a change? Has not Jesus proved Himself all-sufficient? When your soul has simply trusted Jesus, have you ever been confused? Can you so much as dream of a better friend than Jesus has been to you? What friend would lay down their life willingly, that you may have life? Can you so much as dream of a better friend than He has been to you? Then change not the tried and true for something new and false.

Is there anything going on in this world today that can compel you to leave Christ? Paul said in Romans 8: 39, “Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Can we think of anything that should turn us aside or do away with that love? Troubles neither causes nor shows any decline of Jesus’ love. Poor sinners, though you abound with the possessions of this world, what vain things are they. Can you say of any of them, who shall separate us? You may be removed from your pleasant dwellings, and friends, and estates. You may even live to see your own parting. Then farewell, all the things in this world that you hold most dear are nothing, what then do you have left, poor soul, who does not have Christ. You have nothing, but that which you would gladly part with, and cannot; the condemning guilt of all your sins. The man or woman who would fall away from Jesus Christ don’t realize the depth of God’s love toward us.

When we are overwhelmed with this world, or with the demanding trials within the church, we find a blessing, like John, to lay our heads upon the bosom of our Saviour. This is one of the joys that we have today that we are saved in Him; and if our joy is satisfying, why should we think of changing? Who would want to exchange gold for dross? Why would you want to leave the Lord, unless you could find a more surer way to eternal life, and, since this can never be, let us hold on to Him with all our might.

Can you suggest anything that could arise to cause you to mutiny, or forsake the love of Jesus Christ to serve under another Captain? I don‘t think so. “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon,” St. Matthew 6: 24.

Worldly-mindedness is a common and fatal symptom of insincerity, for by no sin can Satan have a surer and faster hold of the soul, under the cloak of a profession of religion. God requires the whole heart, and will not share it with the world. When two masters oppose each other, no man can serve both. He who holds to the world and loves it, must despise God; he who loves God, must give up the friendship of the world. He cannot follow two callings successfully. Mammon means, “Money” or riches.” If God is not the object of supreme trust, something else will be, and it is most likely to be money. If life be long, Jesus changes not, if we be poor, what better than to have Jesus Christ in our lives to make us rich? And if we are sick, what better than to have Jesus as our doctor in the sick room? I can’t speak for you, but as for me, I’m with Peter, “lord, to whom shall we go?”
